In addition to two earlier collaborative EPs as one half of Solid Void (Realia002) and as a member of Hyter (Realia003), Noumeno’s (Realia/Haunter Records/Portals Editions) first solo contribution to Realia’s catalogue is a track entitled: “Oh, Play This, and I’ll Come to You”.
Combining the artist’s distinctive forward-thinking production style with more recent sample-based/reggaeton-leanining experimentations, “Oh, Play This, and I’ll Come to You” conveys themes of eschatological hope, natural sublime, simultaneity and corporeality.
In this context, the organising principle of identity is no longer presence vs. absence, but pattern/randomness––namely, the sudden recognition of meaningful information against the backdrop of noise and chaos. The pattern/randomness dialectic reveals a situation where two seemingly antagonistic concepts are mutually constitutive: randomness is not the absence of pattern, but the productive ground from which pattern emerges.
